I've been doing ab exercises for a long while now and they're actually working. But, I've noticed if i don't "suck in" my stomach, it'll stick out and look very big. This doesn't make sense at all. I'm not overweight at all, I'm 6'1" and only 150 lbs, plus I'm very fit and athletic. I want to see some results but for some reason, my stomach sticks out and is very unattractive. Whats going on and how do i fix it? (if it helps at all my 10 year old brother's belly sticks out like mine too)

Try doing cardio instead of just muscle building. If the fat around the abdomen is not removed then the muscle will have a harder time getting firm.

That sucks. Men tend to accumulate fat in the beer belly area, and women do around their hips and thighs. Just because you have a lot of muscle below the fat, doesn't mean you can just make it disappear. You need to do more cardio workouts to get rid of your overall fat, and then your abs will start to show and your beer belly will go away. A leaner diet, eating foods with more concentrated nutrients (i.e. eliminating sugary drinks and white bread) will also help get rid of the fat.
Good luck!

Hi.The best way of loosing fat around the middle is to cut down on the total amount of fat in the foods you eat and a regular walking routine of 4 kilometres a day. This should reduce your belly circumference by a half to one inch per week.
Cheers

I too store all my fat in my belly...nowhere else...
I'm a slim guy...except when my belly starts sticking out.

like the people above me said, go jogging or swimming.

When my belly starts sticking out I just go running and it goes away...I don't even do abdominal workouts....

Also you might want to limit your sugar and carb intake...
I am in no way a health nut...
But if i cut back on my soda...and candy...
I can still eat a regular lunch, and dinner...
