Here's my question... My fiance has a account that has my name and his mothers name on it.....he has some debt can they legally freeze that account even though it's under all 3 of our names and I have a large sum of money in it??? We live in NY if that helps any..

They sure can. Good luck separating your funds until after they're done getting their money. And I hope you have proof of what money is yours versus his, because your word isn't going to cut it.

This woman I worked with had her account frozen years after her divorce because her husband didn't pay the mortgage on the house, that was supposed to have her name taken off of it as part of the divorce decree, only because they couldn't locate him.

I'd say that it is possible because his name is on the account. Get your money out of the bank now if you can or take your fiancee's name off the account asap, like tomorrow.

Yes they can. I suggest you separate your accounts from his, as well as your assets. It can be done.
