Just the bullet? Anywhere from 29 grains (not grams; in the United States, bullet weight is measured in grains) up to over 300 grains, potentially. It all depends on the cartridge and load in question. A .22 Short, which can be used in some .22-caliber revolvers, typically uses a 29 grain bullet. A .500 S&W Magnum, which is the most powerful existing handgun cartridge, can use bullets of 300 grains or more. That amounts to somewhere around 2 grams up to over 18 grams. Again, that is only considering the actual projectile (i.e., the "bullet"), not the entire cartridge, which includes the casing, primer, and powder. EDIT: Raoul Duke's scale must be poorly calibrated. The 115 grain bullet (JUST the bullet) used by many 9mm Parabellum cartridges is well over one gram.
