I have heard that matter is highly concentrated energy. Is this true?

Is it possible for their to be sentient beings that are pure energy?

If so, could these beings be a possible explanation for spirits and ghosts, maybe even gods?

I am not putting forth this theory as what I beleive, because I don't. I just want to know if it is scientifically possible.

Peace,
Byron

Here is the reason I asked. I found this new religion today. Here is a link:

I just wanted to know how scientifically plausible it is, that's all!

Thanks for all of your responses!

"All around us, everywhere, are beings of pure energy, called energians (en-er-jee-ans). They evolved sentience a lot sooner thousands of years before humans, and have evolved alongside us throughout our entire history, and helped us or hindered us in many hundreds of instances.

"Throughout history, they have been called many things by humans. The early humans called them "gods", and worshiped them. When monotheism came along, they were called Angels, the messengers and servants of the One God (Yahweh, Allah, Jesus, etc) or demons. Later yet, they came to be called ghosts.

"When we die, the energian that resides within us, the residence of our consciousness, sheds this body of matter. We often fuse ourselves into another embryo after a time, for another life as a matterian (mat-tair-ee-an, being of matter such as human). Between matterian lives, we roam the universe among the thousands of civilizations of matterians that have evolved since time began."

1) Yes, matter is energy is matter is energy. At the most fundamental levels, there isn't really a difference.

2) Sure--in fact I suppose you could say that we are pure energy.

3) Uh, I guess, but that would be extremely far-fetched. It's far more plausible to believe that such things are the products of people's imaginations.

What Einstein hypothesized is that matter and energy are actually the same thing related to the constant c^2 where c is the speed of light hence the famous equation e = mc^2 where e is energy. Whether this means there are ghosts etc. that is not really science and has nothing to do with the above formula. As to sentinent beings being pure energy, energy is not sentient per se, but if converted back into matter I suppose it could form a sentient being. This is a rather weird question so please excuse my somwhat unspecific roundabout answer.

Matter is highly concentrated energy. Einstein's theory of special relativity proved it. E=mc2. Basically this means that contained within every small amount of matter is an enormous amount of energy. This is how nuclear weapons work. A great amount of energy is released from a small amount of matter to create the massive explosion.

Have you ever heard about String Theory?
"String theory is a model of fundamental physics whose building blocks are one-dimensional extended objects called strings, rather than the zero-dimensional point particles that form the basis for the Standard Model of particle physics."
There are some very interesting videos about this.
Mainly about what matter is.
The videos are located at:

They are kind of long, but worth watching. It gives you a new possible perspective about what matter is.

Matter and energy are interchangeable and if there were beings that were pure energy with no mass, they'd have to move at the speed of light so they could never haunt anything.

"I have heard that matter is highly concentrated energy. Is this true?"

More accurately I think matter is a FORM of energy (according to science it think (I don't know if it's necessarily highly concentrated)).

Check out this video it's short. If you want to see more get "what the bleep" "what the bleep down the rabbit hole"
and "what the bleep quantum edition"

Matter is created out of consciousness. We create matter out of a sea of energy. This world is an illusion created by us.

Consider this. The world that you think you are experience outside of yourself is actually happening in your mind. This is something you should have learnt in elementary school. YOU THINK it's outside yourself because you look outside yourself and see your self and a world around you .... BUT all of that is in your mind. EVERYTHING you experince is in your mind. You think you are seeing the world that is outside of you because the YOU THAT IS IN YOUR MIND sees a world outside of it.

buddha says Only a FOOL thinks that the objects of their mind exist outside of their mind.

The world around you everything you look at are objects of your mind. They don't exist outside of your mind. You CAN NOT get outside of your mind to actually see if anything exists out their.

Einstein said If quantum mechanics is true it will destroy science. Why? Because science is based upon the idea of an objective reality outside of us of which we observe. But according to quantum mechanics the objective world is a by-product of the subjective consciousness. Time and space are illusions created by us.

Oh and incidentaly for any religion on earth to be possible this has to be an illusion. If time and space where absolute their would be no room for anything else. Where would heaven be at the far edge of the universe? How would you get their fly for the next gazzillion years? (incidently spirituality isn't a god lottery, it's not about picking one and hoping it PAYS OFF in the end. If that's your philosophy of spirituality it WILL NOT pay off in the end no matter which one you pick. LOOK DEEPER. So for any religion to be fesible this has to be an illusion and the fact of the matter is the majority of humans on this planet (pay lip service to religion) they don't have a clue what it's about but they will fanaticaly tell you it's true. On another tangent I was raised christian and modern christianity has turned christ into the anti-christ according to christ. Oh and the main argument between christians and science should not be evolutionism versis creationism. It's funny that christians argue creationism. Creationism is an idea created by moses. The religion of moses was the prevailing religion of Jesus's time. Jesus is famous for exposing the fact that the prevailing religion was wrong ie: moses is wrong. The only christians who should be supporting the idea of creationism are the one's who think christ was wrong. Secondly Moses killed hundreds of thousands of people he brags about it in the bible he's like a psyco serial killer. Any one with any moral values should reject the teachings of moses. So the only christians who should support the idea of creationism are the ones who thing christ was wrong and have no moral values. Lastly Moses aka Mr psycho serial killer is the one teaching the values of thou shalt not kill. I'm not going to take moral guidance from ... . I don't support evolutionism either. If this is an illusion evolution is an illusion. If time is an illusion constructed by consciousness how can a time based event be anything more than a product of consciousness.
The real argument between science and religion should be illusionsim versis concretism. Incidentily science has proven that this is an illusion more conclusivly than they have ever proven that this is concrete.

The best analogy I can give is to compare this to a computer game. You get your game you install it on your computer and here is this little world in your computer on the screen. You however can't enter this world. You can't interact with it, you are fundementaly different from the world in the game you are flesh and blood the world in the game is binary, flashing lights and electrical impulses. So how do you get in? How do you interact with this world? You create a character. A character in the game world of the game world. Once you've created the character do you enter the character to enter the world? In other words do you exist in side your body? NO. You do not exist inside your body. Just like you don't enter the body of your game characters you can't it's impossible. You can interact with the world through your character and you can view the world through the character but you can not enter the character. You are not actually inside your body. You simply experience this world through your body. You recieve information from it. It shows you sight, sound, sensation, smell and taste.

Hope this helps some one.

Added Science can't explaing consciousness. So science can't really say that consciousness only occurs in energy that is taking the form of matter.
