Why do you guys think that I hate my country if I am critical of the Bush administration? Don't you know the difference? Don't you understand that I think my country is much greater than this chimp who is president?

Lieutena…Show me where I criticized our troops. Show me where liberals have criticized our troops. We criticize the Bush policies. There is a difference between Bush policies and our troops, you do know that right?

Sheepdog... you still haven't proven to me where liberals hate America. You are still spewing the same B.S that I was talking about. You cons are so reactionary, you can't even answer a simple question.

2007-05-02 15:38:14 · update #2

Liberals haven't done anything to hurt our country. Bush has done ALOT to hurt our country and our troops. Geesuz when will you cons learn this truth?

2007-05-02 15:39:18 · update #3

!......I love my country, very much. But when I see a president that is lying to the American people in order to go to war with a country that had nothing to do with attacking us on 9/11, I see a traitor pig who doesn't deserve to be leader of this great Nation. A nation that is much larger than the office of president. It's you cons who are traitors who support this treasonist president and vice president who has done everything in their power to break the laws of our constitution.

2007-05-02 15:44:19 · update #4

pachl@sb…... This president has not kept us safe in the last 6 years. 9/11 happened under his watch. Are those thousands of people in N.Y.C who died that day safer? No, because he ignored intelligence. Terrorism is up in the world. And, because he invaded a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and he lied about it, he has made our country more vulnerable to attacks.

2007-05-02 15:46:37 · update #5

deedeer2 and rmagedan..... The American people can't stand Bush. Over 70% are against his policies and think he lied. They call him names too. We used to call Nixon "tricky dick". These people abused their power, they don't deserve our respect. Your logic would say that the Romans should have respected Nero while he played the fiddle while Rome burned. You are all sick. You think Bush is greater than our wonderful country. It is you that are traitors to this country. Not liberals and certainly not me. It is you that are more loyal to this despot than you are to the country because you refuse to question authority.

2007-05-02 15:52:04 · update #6

Juno Her…Please prove where any liberal has bashed our troops or abused our troops. Please show proof of any liberal lawmaker that has ever done that. Please show proof of any liberal organization that has done that. Please show proof where any peace activist has done that. Please show where I have said anything bad about our troops. You can't. You hear what you want to hear and disregard the rest. The fact remains that most of you cons have called Bill Clinton "slick Willie", yet you expect liberals to not call our current president "Chimp". Stop pretending you're taking the moral high ground. Throughout time leaders, presidents, kings and despots have been satirized and made fun of. It's our right. And, it is our right to free speech and our right to throw verbal epithets at him. You may not like it but tough. You have done it too an you know you have.

2007-05-03 06:22:24 · update #7

BTW, just for the record, I never voted for Clinton. I never trusted him. But the facts remain, Bush and Cheney lied and thousands died as a result. It's been all over the news and you people still won't face these FACTS.

Cons tend to be narrow minded. If you disagree with the current administration, you hate your country. If you stand up and speak out against the war, you're anti-American.
And yes, our country deserves so much better than who is in office at the moment.

I'm conservative-ish...can't say I can be put into any party really...and I'm glad people criticize the administration. I think it shows that not all Americans agree on how to do everything, it shows that we all have our opinion on how things should happen, and right now we are in disagreement about it. I only wish that people would drop the party lines, they get so old. I think criticizing that isn't really constructive is pointless, but constructive criticism is great. As long as liberals or any other group doesn't get angry at me if I criticize them, it's all good.

Please peruse the q and a . . . like "how ashamed are you of being an American" . . .

When a group becomes sycophantic to the world, and turns abusive behavior towards fellow Americans in defense of our enemies, I feel that equates hatred.

feelings of hate: hatred, loathing, detestation, dislike, distaste, abhorrence, abomination, execration, aversion; hostility, enmity, animosity, antipathy, revulsion, disgust, contempt, odium.

A patriot loves their country and will fight to preserve the sanctity thereof.

A patriot can dislike policy, and work to rectify erroneous policy WITHOUT attacking the men and women who put on the uniform that insures our freedoms and liberties.

The biggest problem is the deterioration of decorum and respectful dialog. For instance: When I say there is a problem with the border that needs addressing, I am then called a racist, unsympathetic to the poor and downtrodden . . . which is not true.

I don't care if you like the president or not, but you prove my point when you call him a "chimp," rather than addressing what deficiencies you see in his policy. You've stooped to emotional rationalization where it is counterproductive to solution finding.

Dems are all about corrupting society, so it's not just you being critical of the administration. If you guys had anything better to do than to bash Bush 24/7 and saying we failed in Iraq, maybe you would be considered a patriotic American. We know the difference, we're not confused. We get tired of you guys crying and whining about everything that the administration does. Get over it. You lost and you gotta put up with him for a few more months, deal with it. We're all sick of your whining and complaining about Iraq and how he's making billions off of this war. That's sounds pretty anti-American to me. Don't you guys have a better plan than to withdraw our men and women over there asap? Guess not.

Matt (down below) Great answer! Well said my man!

People get pretty uptight about politics. But everyone has their own belief.

Politics and religion seem to be the taboo focuses of conversation unless two people agree.

But then again, it's these issues that cause people to wanna kill other people.

Yeah, I have my beliefs, but I just ask others questions about it, and don't really tell my beliefs.

For example, I don't agree with you. But I'm sure we both have our reasons for believing what we do. So I'm not gonna criticize you for it. We both want the same thing. The American public to be safe, happy, and run smoothly. We just both have different views of how to get it that way.

We Cons are not confused, little girl.

First, you disrespected the great and solemn office of the Presidency of the United States of America. No matter who holds that office, you should not to diminish it with immature rants against a man who has successfully kept us safe from terrorist attacks for the past six years.

That "chimp" you so cavalierly denigrate is a Yale graduate. What's in your future, missy? Community college?

When you and your ilk make obscenely irresponsible accusations about the President or our country, you are first diminishing the highest office of the land, and figuratively spitting on your own flag.

You can have reasonable, rational, civil discourse about domestic and foreign affairs, but you need to conduct yourself in a civil and respectful manner. You probably don't even have a clue what I'm talking about, do you?

Lastly, do you realize that if every President is so viciously attacked (and remember, Nixon, Reagan, Clinton, and Bush were all attacked in the press to a degree that proves the media does not act responsibly), probably the best, brightest, and most capable people will refuse to offer themselves as candidates for office?

Right now, our country could take a massive leap forward in terms of international image by electing Condaleezza Rice as President, but she does not want to accept the nomination. Why? Because her life, and that of those around her, will be mercilously put under such withering scrutiny that no one can escape unscathed. She just doesn't want the liabilities that come with being President.

And guess who is adding fuel to the fire? People like you. So next time when you are denouncing some public official, just remember that the best candidates never came forward, thanks to people like you.
**********************************************************************
Addendum: Your response is wholly disingenuous. You know perfectly well that I am saying that Bush has kept us safe since the 9-11 attacks, something no one envisioned was possible. Imagine Bush had gone before Congress back in early 2001 and said, "I really think we're going to attacked by terrorists. Give me $50 billion. They'd have laughed him off the floor. It took the attack to give people the sense of urgency necessary to start shoring up our defenses. Any attacks since then? No, and the reason is that he has kept the terrorists so busy on their home turf they can't even consider any attacks on the U.S.

You love the U.S.? Really. Then why do you consider our noble LIBERATION of Iraq from the hands of the Butcher of Baghdad, and our subsequent gift of democracy to them on a silver platter, for which we have had to spend hundreds of billions of dollars and sacrifice our brave soldiers, as an "invasion"? The words you choose are very telling. You love your country? Well, if this is how you "love" it, please don't "love" it again.

You finish by saying that President Bush "has made our country more vulnerable to attacks." No, the fact we have not been attacked has proven the contrary. Do you think for one minute the terrorists wouldn't have struck back if they could? They can't, and for that you can thank George W. Bush.

It is ok to disagree with our President, But when the radical left promotes hate instead of rational descent, then they divide and endanger our Country. So when I read a question and our President is being referred to as a chimp, I sense Nothing but hate for the people that voted him in office and the Country we represent.

I have seen this question at least 3 times from different Liberals today.

All I can say is this: Have your opinions and beliefs and be willing to stand by them in the face of open ridicule and name-calling. If it's good enough for us Conservatives (and it has been the entire time I've been on this site), then it's good enough for everyone else.

I believe that if we pull out of Iraq soon, it will be one of the biggest disasters in our history. Reid, Pelosi, and that gentleman from Ohio should be brought up on charges. If their child was over there, what do you think they would be saying ? I remember Ted Kennedy drunk and left a woman to die while he was sobering up. You don't see him in trouble! Give G. W. a wide berth, at least he did something beside oral sex in the Green Room.....God Bless America !!

There are certain conservatives and liberals on this site that insult people because it's easier than actually debating people on the issues where they disagree with someone else.
