My teacher had her 4-6 year old son in her class and the kid said to the class "Did you ever meet Santa Clause before?" And everyone said yes but I said "He's my Dad" but I don't think he heard me and then my teacher told me to watch what I said and a bunch of people I know that are kinda my friends was like "your so mean to little kids" and I asked them how I was mean by saying that and they said that I was trying to get the Santa Clause thing out of his system. They wern't joking either.

Do you agree with what they were saying because I had no intentions of doing so?

uh I said that he was my Dad, so I still don't understand how he would think he is not real?

you may have meant it as a small thing but with maturity you learn to let a small child playlet them be innocent as long as they can. a small lie about santa for a while is not really a harm and letting the teacher raise her kid to beleive that is her choice. you just have to watch what you say some times. sometimes it is also who you say it to. you were in no wrong but you also maybe should have thought twice about what and how you said it. your teacher should not have brought her son at such a small age to school anyway.

Well, I guess it's better to entertain the idea Santa exists with kids under 8 or so. You opened the door for a lot of questions. And if he did hear, he may have made note of the comment in his mind. They probably thought you were rushing his discovery that Santa isn't real. So, hence the comments about being mean. It's not like you're a horrible person. Just watch the jokes with the tots.

Dude, you're fine. That is just plain nonsense. Unless you sounded completely contrary to the way you explained, I'd say that they need to go easy. So Santa is your dad? Half the shows around Christmas time have a similar theme only it's Santa is my neighbor or Santa is my Sunday School teacher or Santa is the Clerk at the hardware store. Don't worry about it.

they take offense to that because they think you're joking around, and when it's to someone who's 4-6 yrs old who believes in Santa Clause, you don't want to give away that he doesnt really exist. maybe because of your age they think you know that Santa Clause doesnt exist and therefore by saying that comment they thought you were being mean to such a child. to them, it doesnt really matter whether the child heard it or not. what matters is that there was a possibility that they heard you and could potentially get them upset about it. you know parents too. they like to make their children believe that there's a Santa Clause. it brings them christmas cheer, and gets them to be good to their parents in the process as they think that if they be good they will get what they want from Santa Clause.

My father is clinically insane; he is a ticking time bomb. My mom is a dish washer at our school. i must see her every day at this embarassing job. I live in the ugliest house in our neighborhood. My father , well father figure, has 12 cars in our front yard. Well, I think this answers your first question. Please wire the money to me. Thanks!

As innocent as your comment may have been you can not ever crush a childs imagination or spirit. When a child is no longer a child they are a robot. They never forget and are a parrots to everything they hear an adult say. Have a heart and learn to not be so harsh.

i wouldn't say that to little kids, you shouldn't crush their imagination by saying "oh, well he isnt real" weren't you excited for Chirstmas when you were little, because Santa Clause would come and leave you a present?
Don't say things like that to kids, they don't get sarcasim yet

Yes, I agree with your friends. We are only kids once and fantacies that we hold dearly at that age are sacrid. Thank God that little boy didn't hear you. You would have caused a lot of problems for your teacher and her husband. SHAME ON YOU.

What's more disturbing is why the kid would be talking about Santa the first week of May. Planning ahead, is he?
