The seller can subtract the VAT from the sale. Some do and some don't. You can't compel them to do it, however.

In the UK, no VAT is charged on goods exported outside the EU.

If you are buying good from australia, they operate a similar system to VAT (called GST). If they have the same export rules, you wont be charged Australian GST. However, you will probably be charged US tax when the goods enter the company. Generally this is paid for by your freight handler and then they will give you a bill which must be paid before you receive the goods

YES. You are going to pay because the SELLER is in Australia and according to their tax laws where the sale takes place the tax gets paid. You can try here to get it back but I don't think you have a chance. Experience .....

No if you buying online you pay there rates us rates or British rates depending on where the seller is, the only thing you be paying for is extra shipping charge.
