The suicide bombing is increasing dramatically. No other country in the world has seen as many suicide bombings ever. And, now that we know that our government is backing a Shiite Iranian backed government with arms, military training and money in Iraq to turn around and declare our soldiers as the enemy, what is the solution to this problem of our being in Iraq when nothing is changing and the escalation of soldiers into Iraq isn't working. What would you do if you were president? Please be advised that nuking the region is not a viable and intelligent option. We brought this on Iraq and now over 88% of Iraqies want us out as do over 70% of Americans want us out.

It's very apparent that the cons on these boards are some of the most reactionary morons on the planet. It's obvious they couldn't think themselves out of a paper bag let alone a war.

BTW, I do love America. What does my being critical of the Bush administration have to do with the love of my country?

JD.... that has more to do with Hamas and the agreement they have had with Israel. Saddam didn't make a dent in the suicide bombers actions in Israel. It's between Hamas and Israel. It was never between Hamas, Saddam and Israel. Your answer still completely skirts the issues and my questions.

JD... Hamas is honoring a peace agreement with Israel now. Your answer didn't answer my question. It didn't even address it. This is about Iraq and suicide bombers, not about Saddam and pre-war Iraq. We had him contained, even the present administration admitted that prior to the events of 9/11.

See what kind of answers you get when you ask a logical question?
The fact that Saddam paid suicide bombers in Israel, and was arrested and executed has nothing to do with your question. (In fact, the arrest of Saddam should have wrapped up US involvement in Iraq)
The Democratic plan is the only logical and workable solution to the Iraqi problem, but it is opposed because the right wing media (Fox especially) has branded it 'cut-and-run' and the sheep believe it.

Please ignore the hateful comments sweetheart - people like that are the reason why this country has so many problems now and why we have such a disgrace of a president. You are the true patriot, not them. You are right, there had never been a suicide bombing in Iraq before we got there. We have INCREASED terrorism around the world, not decreased it. Alot of people will argue that we have an obligation to leave Iraq a better place so we need to stay. However, intelligence reports and generals say that this cannot be achieved militarily, aka Vietnam. So the only rational solution is to pull the military out, stop sacrificing soldiers needlessly, and find a diplomatic solution to the crisis between Shiites and Sunnis. The last 4 years have proven that we cannot succeed in Iraq using force so we need to find a diplomatic solution. If Bush won't do it, then maybe the next president will.

I do think the troop surge will work in Baghdad, but the problem is how long can the US Military sustain high levels of troops?

The military is stretched thin and sooner or later something must be done to increase recruitment figures.

Patraeus has stated that the Pentagon is discussing deployments being increased to 18 months after they just approved a 15 month extension.
Several military officials agree that longer deployments are tough on the soldiers and their families, but they have no choice as not enough people are volunteering.

I think part of the solution is for the Bush Administration to follow the guidelines released by the Baker/Hamilton report and open a dialogue with Syria and Iran.
The Baker/Hamilton report stated that Iraq cannot be won militarily.
The report also stressed that President Bush should work on uniting Americans instead of perpetuating the division.
They advised President Bush to come clean with the American people and explain what is really happening in Iraq and show Americans a viable plan for bringing our troops home.

With the US military stretched thin, sooner or later the politicians will have to withdraw the troops and bring them home, or else start a draft, and starting a draft will cause mayhem in this country, especially with 72% of Americans disapproving of the war.

Have you noticed that suicide bombings in Israel, Jordan, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon, have all decreased over the past four years?

Ham-mas never honored an agreement before. My answer goes directly to your question. You framed your question to relate the increase in suicide bombing to the US invasion of Iraq. I framed my answer as an alternative thought that maybe the decrease of suicide bombers in neighboring countries has as much to do with the increase in Iraq as the US invasion does. I can understand someone not liking the president but what I don't understand is the liberal tendency to blame the US first without giving any credence to the thought that other factors might come into play.

I don't know if what you are saying about Iraq not having suicide bombers in Iraq before the war is true or not. I do know that when Sadam was in power he was offering $20,000 compensation to the families of suicide bombers in Israel as an incentive to attract more bombers.

That is because suicide bombing is a specific tactic used in terrorism against what is percieved to be infidels. (Jews and Americans)

Actually what we have been trying to do from the beginning is foster a balance in their govt between shia and sunni. But ultimately it is up to them how much they want to balance their govt.

Actually, the troop surge has shown promising signs that it is indeed working because we are able to employ new smarter strategies for clearing neighborhoods and keeping them clean. Perhaps youre watching too much propaganda from liberal media? They have a vested interest in making sure things in Iraq always look grim and hopeless as well as democrats.

I think what can be done in Iraq is being done by our leadership and military. Probably what would help most is if democrats would stop undermining the war effort and giving hope to our enemies.

To start with, Iraq may not have had a suicide bomber, but they did have a ruthless dictator murderer whose credits include, torture of innocent civilians, genocide, and using chemical weapons on a village in his own country in order kill suspected traitors, who turned out to be again, innocent civilians. Have you heard the true story of the Iraqi soccer team under the control of Saddam's son. You know the one where they were torured to death along side their family if they did not play well enough.

It is a good story almost as good as the one you told about the US government supporting iranian government militia's or whatever that load of BS was.

Here's is some advice. Quite your b*tch*ng and be thankful that you have some freedom. And be thankful that someone (the US military) is willing to fight and die for that freedom.

No before we took out Saddam he didn't need to use suicide bombers he had many other ways to terorize and torture thousands of people. He did pay suicide bombers familys 20 thousand bucks for killing jews though. I didn't know you had done a poll of all the people in Iraq as to wanting us to leave or not. Must have been a bit dangerous. I think you pulled those numbers out of your butt er I mean out of thin air just to further your theroy. I trust our military to do what they have to do. We need to win this thing it's very important to the free world.

basically about all the "Muslim Extremists" are below the course and administration of the CIA and/or Pakistan ISI and/or the Saudi secret Police and/or Israeli Mossad...have been because of the fact the 1980's. word maximum persons of the bombs going off in Iraq are "distant detonated vehicle bombs". Gee i ask your self the place they have been given the learning and kit for that? the persons who're blind to the certainty of Islam will probable in no way "get it" until they open their hearts and God is prepared.

its time to leave. let them figure things out for themselves.
these people have hated each other for centuries, most likely iraq will be split into 3 parts.

we are in a hard postition:
we want them to stay united and they don't

the kruds are already migrating to their own areas

Iran is shiite and not very close with us

Saudi Arabia is sunni and considered our ally

shia are being killed and are are outnumbered. thus we want to help them.
but its our ally who is most likely suppliying those who are killing/attacking the shia.
iran wants to get involved to help the shia.(they might already be sending some money and things under the radar.)

we had a bad situation ready to collapse at any second and we just collapsed it.
