I have to finish a crossword puzzle about Japan and what happened during the world wars. This term starts with either an "N" or an "A". Please help. I can't find the answer anywhere on the Internet.

"Allies" is probably the world (in contrast to the Axis countries — Germany, Italy and Japan and their satellites).
In 1942, the Allied countries signed a "Declaration of the United Nations," and they are sometimes referred to as "United Nations," but this didn't really catch on. Only in 1945 was the United Natins label placed on the new internatonal organzation that emerged out of the Allied victory in World War II.

I did'nt read the article but it shoulld give you all the information on it.There were not any countries that actually attacked Japan, the Japanese homeland. If you want to consider the atom bomb an attack you could say the Americans. There were no other forces that did anything, they were just small countries that did not have forces to do so. Austraila was just to far away to do any thing.
You did not say how many letters you need but Allies, starts with "A". That is one of the problems with the schools today they don't teach History
