I'm 14 and well... I want a baby. I know thats odd but I do. I know that having a child is alot of work temper wise.. and such, I can't help wanting one, I know I am not ready for a child at all but I still really want one. I have had thease odd feelings to be a mom sence I was 13. Their were even times when I would think I was pregnet, but I knew I was not.. because I could not be not ever having sex before. I think having children at my age is dumb because you are just not ready, I even think having sex at this age is dumb because you just really are not ready.. I don't know I just don't understand why I want a baby. I feel like I am going go crazy if I don't become a mom soon and I don't know why.

I would say it has to be your hormones and motherly instinct. If you keep all of those feelings your whole life you will be a very excellent mother. Being a mother is the best "employment" in the world. Just remember to wait for the right time to take the challenge on.

It's normal. You're coming into womanhood and certain instincts that you didn't have as a little girl are just now kicking in.

Maybe you could try volunteering your time at a nursery or daycare, to spend time around kids. That way you could get your "baby fix," since you're too young now to have a child of your own. Also, it's ok to daydream about this stuff and plan for the future. I used to really really want a baby but I knew I was too young, so I used to plan what the nursery would look like some day or plan what my babies's names would be.

If it's extreme to the point that it's interfering with your normal day to day life, talk to your doctor to see if maybe your hormones are way out of balance. Otherwise though, just don't worry about it... have fun planning for the future and look forward to being a mom someday.

For women it is natural for us to want to be mothers. It is not odd. However, you cannot have a baby this young on purpose. It will highly reduce the chances of your personal success and overall achievements in life. Most of the time when children have children the grandparents (your parents) end up taking care of the baby, because face it, you can't. you are in school, or at least you should be. if you are not in school you need to focus on that. i made a lot of bad choices when i was younger, luckily this was not one of them. everyone that i know that had a child as a teen regrets it, though they love their children. You can babysit and get into programs to help with children. Volunteer at church to watch the children or at summer camps or after school programs. There are ways to surround yourself with children without having any of your own just yet. Wait, it's better, I PROMISE! You can't even drive yet, so having a baby is not practical, healthy, or fair to anybody right now.

Do you feel the need to help other people but don't do it wanting a baby, got out and get in a sport, in a team.If you have little sisters or brothers get out with them but please don't have a baby at your age.
Get more infolved in your community,go to the YMCA and see what kind of programs they have or your School.
Don't let other kids or your friend presser you into anything, you have all your live to have a baby.Get yourself out of High School and College first.

It has to do with your hormones and your body adjusting to the changes they are causing in your body.

I would also recommend discussing your concerns with your mom. If you can't try another female family member or a trusted female adult friend.

This may be a lame answer but you could discuss this with your doctor. Doctors are full of knowledge & wisdom & have vowed to do no harm to their patients. Please talk to a person face to face before anything happens.
