Ok I just ordered a pizza online and I had to pay with my credit card. They did not give me the option to place an extra tip onto my credit card but they did charge me a delivery charge of 1.50 already to my order. Will they still expect a tip? I paid with my credit card because I don't have any cash on me. I would have picked it up but I don't have a car right now.

Well, pizza drivers are trained to not "expect" a tip- that tipping is optional. But my bet is that the delivery fee goes straight to the store, and not to the driver. Call the store back and ask them if the driver gets to keep any of that fee, and base your tip off of their answer. And they hopefully should have you sign a credit card receipt, and there's a good chance you can add a tip on at that time

back in the summers during college i drove for pizza hut, and honestly i expect a tip on every delivery, the lose change, and then a dollar per item i brought... 3 pizza's for $21 a $3 tip really isn't much....and that delivery charge is so the place can pay the driver for using their personal car

The delivery person will still expect a tip. The delivery charge covers gas expense and salary. Good service is covered in the tip.

Even a couple of dollars in quarters would be fine for tip.

I had to do the same this week, but I had to sign a credit card reciept and I was able to add the tip. You could always go back tomorrow and give the driver a couple of bucks.

Most pizza places charge $2.50 to deliver plus I tip the driver another $2.00 - 3.00. I think most delivery people expect a tip, though nobody is forcing you too. I figure it's only fair with gas prices and them doing you a service.

If they don't want a tip don't give one to them.

You still should tip as much as you would a waitress.

Taking everything you said into account, you should have gathered together the ingredients and made your own pizza.
