As a Liberal, I don't mind to have a few socialized aspects...but as a Liberal I am pro-Capitalism. The Neo-Cons who post questions comparing Liberals with Communists don't know what they are talking about. To be Liberal means to be anti-Communist.

But, getting back on track...Communism stagnates a society and does not allow for a free transmission of ideas and removes the reward for invention and innovation

The single biggest flaw is that it inhibits creativity and innovation. If those leading the country are especially farsighted, then they can direct resources to those areas that will produce new and better ideas. For the USSR, this worked in some areas. They were competitive in the development of weapons and space travel, but the communist leaders were horrible at planning for farming and food distribution.

A fully enlightened communist system would be more efficient that a free market system, but the "fully enlightened" part is hard to find.

The lesson from the USSR, Cuba, and China seems to be that you have to accept the inefficiencies of an open free market system. People are motivated by individual wealth and that, in turn, produces innovation for society.

Here we go folks, gee whiz, stalin really wasn't a bad guy, i took a class in college that showed how everyone benefited from communism, and all those stories about people freezing in some prison that was just that evil capitalist propaganda.

This is step 42, convince everyone with propaganda and the BIG LIE that communism is not really bad.

It all ends the same in social and economic ruin. Soon like the Ussr China will collapse under its own weight and if it accepts democracy it will move forward. Communism can only last so long until it collapses and then there is problems the only good goverment is a democracy, history proves that to us.
LONG LIVE DEMOCRACY!!!!

nothing .....

Its just like democracy...

it just gets to the end result faster....

where eventually the country is run by an elitist few ( those that amassed the money and thus the power ).............

they then make decisions and policies that favor them , their interests and their friends , cronies and cohorts .....

democracy just takes a little longer to get there .. and needs a few more lies along the way .........

though both communism and democracy have many excellent points in their respective favors ... the human factor ( greed , envy, lust, etc ) intervenes and usurps the good that each contains.....

they both have something in common with religion from that perspective....

It is philosophy that is dialectical materialism, which claims that matter and not spirit is the primary reality in the universe. Two characteristics follow this philosophy, massive indoctrination of the people and ruthless suppression of ides or institutions that threaten totalitarian control of the Communist Party.

It depends on which variety of communism you're talking about, but it often leads to prison camps, censorship, and totalitarian rule. That, and the standard of living in communist societies tends to be pretty low.
