The Lion King was an awesome movie. I'm 18 and i'm still not tired of that movie. Also citizen kane's a good movie for 13-14 year olds, only if they're interested in mysteries though.

Do NOT watch A Clockwork Orange! Who even suggested that to you? NOT appropriate at all for an 8th grade class.

Good movies:
Holes
Miracle
School Of Rock
High School Musical
Benchwarmers
Napoleon Dynamite
Stick It
Accepted
She's The Man
The Hot Chick
Not Another Teen Movie

A good movie to show to the class is either School of Rock or Mr. Deeds. I would have loved to seen those movies in 8th grade

i am in 7th grade.

my language arts teacher showed us this amazing movie that i can never foget.

the movie is "pay it forward"
reason why:

1)it shows how one kid changes the whole world by doing something for someone else.

2) it showed me what is important in life

3) it showed me that i need to apretiate what i have

4) it showed me how hard it is for some kids.

5) it taugh me ALOT

there are VERY few curses in this movie. 8th grade should be mature enough to watch it.

here is the summary of " pay it forward"

-----------------summary--------------------

Young Trevor McKinney, troubled by his mother's alcoholism and fears of his abusive but absent father, is caught up by an intriguing assignment from his new social studies teacher, Mr. Simonet. The assignment: think of something to change the world and put it into action. Trevor conjures the notion of paying a favor not back, but forward--repaying good deeds not with payback, but with new good deeds done to three new people. Trevor's efforts to make good on his idea bring a revolution not only in the lives of himself, his mother and his physically and emotionally scarred teacher, but in those of an ever-widening circle of people completely unknown to him.

-------------------------------------------------
If you dont want to show that movie.

then i would suggest watching " school of life"

reasons:

1)shows how 7th & 8th grade view their school life

2) taught me to take what i have for granted

3) it shows what it is like to go to school in the students eyes and the teachers eyes.

4) it shows difficult times alot of us have had.

5) this taught me ALOT too.

----------------summary-------------------

This movie shows people that first impressions are not always correct. At the beginning Mr.Warner thought that the new teacher, Mr.D. had it all looks, charm, and everyone everywhere seem to love him. After he found out a secret about Mr. D. he realized that a person who takes the time to care for others even when they have their own problems is truly special. This movie is heartwarming and loving.it teaches you about the aspects of life.

ENJOY!

One of my good friends is a 8th grade teacher and she showed her class the movie Miracle, its about the US Hockey team, she said that it was really insightful for them because none of them were alive to witness it, but they all felt like they were there.

I would suggest Holes. That movie has young teens in it around that age, and it is funny as well. It would even be a bonus if they read the book, too. The book is great as well!
