I found out my freind was looking at those "teen" porn sites on my system. I'm really freaking out cause I no longer have the computer and am affraid someone may have retreaved it (I simply put it in my trash can) and find something which might get me in trouble. If I didn't do the looking can I get in trouble, and I don't want my friend to get in trouble either?

If your talking about LEGAL teen (18+) porn than your pretty safe. No one wants a trash PC anyways unless they were going to refurbish it. But it could of been smushed into a pancake from the garbage truck.

If someone did take it though chances are they wont do anything either.

First , you shouldnt just throw it in a bin, its so un-eco friendly.
When you refer to teen sites, most of them are called that when everyone in it are 18 and over, so this is not illegal in most states, but if you refer to underage teen sites,..then I cant comment anymore...
Yes, you can get into trouble, and if your friend is to blame, then hes in for it if the hard drive landed on someone who knows what to do. and by checking the date/time of files, which the forensics are good at, they can work out who downloaded what at what time, its now down to you to prove you werent there or he werent there at the time.

Can it be traced back to you YES. Can you get into trouble YES. Really depends on what was really viewed. If it was just teen porn (18 19)no problem. If it was younger than that YES. But someone has to find it be offended and turn it in.

first of all, most teen porn sites feature 18/19 year old girls, so almost all of them are legal. second, as soon as that computer went in the trash truck it got crushed by a compactor to make it smaller. theres no way it couldve survived that, but if the hard drive did survive, the second someone touched any part of it the oils in their hands would destroy it.

It's doubtful, even if someone dug it out of the trash and either revived the system or slaved the drive onto an operational system and found the unsavory photos in your web cache they'd have to involve the authorities and an investigation would ensue, it'd be a lot of work.

Most "Teen Porn" sites are 20-30 yr olds in makeup. Really. Don't worry. And except for the forign nudist sites, it's usually a virus site. And sometimes those are.
Hmmm... Is that why you threw it away? A virus killed it? I still wouldn't worry.
Lesson Learned. USE PASSWORDS!!!!

Sure. If it was illegal then you could be prosecuted. I'm sure you've read about it in the papers - I know I have.
