The best letter I ever received was from my father. I have kept it with me for 12 years now. We didn't have a great relationship when I was growing up and when I was 19 I went away to work in a different province. It had gotten to the point where my Dad and I hardly ever spoke, and I figured he was glad I was gone.
My Mom told me that he often talked about me, and so I wrote him a letter.
He wrote back and told me he was proud of me which meant EVERYTHING to me. My mom told me that it was the only letter he has ever written.
She has gotten cards with notes in them, and postcards, but never a letter. I am the sole recipient of a letter written by my Dad and it has since meant a lot to me.
We have a great relationship now, and I miss him, since we live in different provinces again.

For every birthday, my mum decorates the envelope with sketches and artwork (she's an artist). I look forward to see what she'll draw 'cause it usually is themed with what's going on in my life. I keep them all - it's fun to look back at them.

I wished for a puppy when I was like 7 but my dad got me a pikachu [stuffed-animal] thingy...can't say doll cause i'm not a girl..haha

A card from a man, who was my fiance at the time, in Israel.
It had pictures of us together and it was in Hebrew.
