Used cars became certified preowned transportation
Toilet paper became bathroom tissue
Handicapped became physically disabled
Constipation became occasional irregularity.
What...do they think that if they change what it's called that they're changing what it is??

The reason some words change is the social climate of the time. Idiot became retard became mentally challenged became chromosome deficient. It's always been like that. Words that are perfectly defined need to have euphemisms created to keep people comfortable with the usage.
