i need help help on my bio and i need to know what caused us to split the kingdom prokaryotes into the kingdoms eubacteria and archaebacteria to make six kingdoms?? can anybody help me?

OMG i just had this exact question on my bio homework!!!!!!
The answer is because there were so many differences between eubacteria and archaebateria, were talking like the differences between a plant and an animal.

It's already been answered but I need to vent.

It's because we are human.

We're just looking at the world around us and trying to label it so that we can better digest it. We are basically just making stuff up. Which leads to lots of debates in the scientific community (which is making me so frustrated. Why did I choose taxonomy for a project?).
Why there was such a fuss over Pluto last year. That's humans for you...

Actually, my first year lecturer said that many protists are more different to each other than animals are from fungi. So protists should really be grouped into 40 Kingdoms and fungi, plants and animals combined into one Kingdom. But students would get angry having to learn about all the Kingdoms...

Scientists discovered that the two groups of bacteria had many differences in structure, including the molecules of the cell wall. Also DNA in Archaebacteria was found to have more similarities with the eukaryotes that with the Eubacteria.
