a) The product of 7 and a number , less 85, is -29. What is the number?

b) Lee spent $10.20 for a pizza and a drink. If the pizza cost eleven times as much as the drink, how much was each?

a. n = the number

7n-85= -29
7n= -29+85
7n= 56
n=8

b. d = cost of the drink
11d = cost of the pizza
