The media has a better chance of making a black person look "less" black and be "acceptable" to the masses. What pops into your head when you hear the names Colin Powell (General, Secretary of State), Micheal Jordan (basketball player), Bill Cosby (comedienne)? Their race is usually not an initial reaction compared to names such as Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. Conversely, strong successful women are usually referred to by two words - b*tch or dike. Just look at the media's treatment (very noticeably the female media) of one of their own, Katie Couric.

I'm voting for Obama all the way. I'm too progressive to vote for the same old thing back into the White House.
I find it odd that people argue the fact that he is black. You can hardly find one person on this planet who is of one race, and I'm sure that he has been judged in the past as being black more than he has by being white. I am a woman, but I am also a wife, a mother, a liberal, etc.
And the lack of experience argument is ridiculous. How many years of experience did Bush have when he was elected? At least Obama has experience helping in a poverty-stricken minority neighborhood, but more importantly, he did that by his own choice. And he has a proven records of passing bi-partisan legislation.
He has more integrity that any other candidate running.

I don't know which will be first, but I do know that the question won't be answered until at least 2012. No females or blacks that should get elected are running this time......

Why in the world does it matter? As soon as a black man or a woman or a black woman is the best qualified, I'll for for him/her. I don't feel the need to guess which it will be first.

Since I do not know who will be candidates in the future, no idea.
Hillary and Obama have ZERO chance. They are both liberals. Liberals never win in national elections.

It's hard to tell, but I hope it's not a choice between Obama or Hillery. Obama is too wet behind the ears, and if Hillery is elected the right wing will hound her the same way they did Bill.
