like the massive deficit spending seen under Bush?

I certainly think so. The generation that does the spending should be the generation that does the paying. I think it is not only wrong, but IMMORAL to spend like there is no tomorow and then expect our children to pay for it.

Funny how its the "fiscal conservatives" who always create the largest deficits.

philip,

Democrats support pay as you go rules. Those rules are part of the reason the deficit went down every year under Clinton leading to surpluses from 1998 to 2001. It forces congress to balance the budget.

Democrats want to bring back those rules, but Republicans are against it.

I do not consider it immoral to borrow money. I consider it immoral to borrow money with no intentions of repaying it.

And I consider it stupidity to borrow money to buy consumables, and not so much a question of morals.

In the case of running our nation, I will leave that moral judgment to the ones accountable for it: Government. I will vote based on what I think of their judgment.

If you truly believe that about Bush, don't vote for him. But I suspect your major complaint is that you think the same borrowed money would be better spent on your social programs.

Like pork spending?

If you're going to try making a point try not tightening up the noose so tight so you can continually look like a fool.

It is immoral if you have NO intention of paying it back.
Since BOTH sides of the isle (in Congress) have no intention of paying it back, they are ALL immoral.
