spring pruning grapes

NO! Don't do it! Now is the time they will be forming grapes. Cut them back in the fall around the end of November. However, do not cut them back drastically....no further back than the 17th growth node. If you cut them back too much, you won't get hardly any grapes the next season, and you'll have to wait until the next season, provided you don't prune at all. That will penalize you 2 seasons. I made the mistake of cutting back too far, and now 2 years later, I've finally got lots of clusters growing.

Do they have buds on them yet? I would think that you prune them in the fall.....There is a question that is already answered in the list regarding pruning. Check it out.
