I have a doctors appt. tomorrow but i thought i would ask if anyone else has experienced this. I have been experiencing mild cramping in my lower abdomen. I have not been bleeding and the cramping is not really bad, and it comes and goes throughout the day. I had an ultrasound at 11 weeks and everything was fine, but i have yet to hear the baby's heartbeat at an appointment or anything. My doctor always says that there is no time. Sometimes i think i feel the baby move but am never too sure, this is my first pregnancy and am not sure what i should be feeling. Is it possible to have a miscarriage and not have any bleeding. Im probably just worrying way too much but i can't help it, i need to know that everything is ok. I will be asking my doctor about it tomorrow but i was wondering if any of you had an opinion on the matter. Thanks in advance for your answers.

The cramping you're feeling is most likely ligament and utero stretching. Sometimes our abdomens just get uncomfortable or tender becuase of all the growing and shifting. I'm w/ baby #1 right now and we're exactly as far along as eachother. I have been feeling baby move for 2 wks now and sometimes it'll be 2 days before I feel much or have time to really pay close enough attention to feel him/her move. So at this point movement is off and on and it won't be for a couple of weeks that you'll start feeling it everyday. Hey, IM me if you want to compare pregnancies since we're both the same week.

With this being your first pregnancy it is kind of hard to tell between gas and kicks, but soon enough it'll happen. As everyone has said so far, the cramping is normal but what worries me is that you have yet to hear a heartbeat from 11-17 weeks. Your dr. should be checking this at every appointment especially before you can truly feel or "count kicks". I wasn't sure if you meant the dr. doesn't have time to check the heartbeat or if he meant there is no time line for when to hear it. Either way though, I don't like how that sounds. I think you should get a new dr. or a second opinion sweetie, and only because of my own personal experience. With one of my boys I didn't hear a heartbeat until 22 weeks but every visit my dr. would make sure we saw it. Sometimes if you were a heavier girl before pregnancy it makes it a little more difficult. I also had a pregnancy where we didn't hear the heartbeat and at 16 weeks I miscarried, contrary to what the anwerer before said I did not bleed, I had some darkish discharge but never bled.

I wish you the very best sweetie and I will keep you in my prayers, please post an addition to this question after your appointment tomorrow letting us know how it goes! Good luck and God bless.

Well since your not bleeding and the doc says you are ok, then don't worry and tense up to much. As long as you are feeling something.
As for the lower cramps, those are your round ligaments stretching, those are perfectly normal and should happen!

If you do begin to spot or you feel you have LOST all pregnancy signs then call your doctor, but I am sure since your 18 wks tomorrow that he should be able to find a heart beat, dont get to upset if he cant though, at least if you can see it pumping on the sono you are ok...sometimes the babies position does not help hear it!

What you are feeling is ligiment pain as the uterus is expanding in the abdomen. It is normal and common. You can get some relief with over the counter products, ask your doctor which on. However, I would be more concerned that your doctor has not listened to the heartbeat. This should be done every visit. If he say he does not have time now is he going to have time if you start having problems or when you are about to deliver is he going to make it.
If I were in your shoes I would find a new doctor and invest in a What to expect when you are expecting book.

cramping can be caused by the uterus expanding to make room for your growing baby. It is nothing to be concerned about. you need to bleed in order to have a miscarriage because the baby has to come out some how. Just relax and in no time you will be feeling it kick really hard.

I am 16 weeks and this is my 3rd pregnancy. I still cramp on and off, sometimes pretty bad. Everything is fine with my baby as well. I know this time is a rapid growth period for the baby. Good luck

My wife had that-it turned out to be nothing serious. The Doctor said that was a common thing to happen-but there wasn't anything wrong. There's no reason to get yourself so upset with worry when you won't go to the doctor until tomorrow. Try to relax! Hope all goes well!

It sounds normal to me. But having a Dr. tell you that there is no time for you to hear the heartbeat makes me think that your Dr. is not so good, at least not with how he deals with patients. Most Doctors are more than happy to let you hear the heartbeat, my Dr. let my husband come in and hear the heartbeat when I asked.

Sounds normal. Could be several things, round ligaments stretching. Uterus stretching. Uterus displacing other organs. As for your OB not having time to listen for a heartbeat that is VERy wrong. If he doesn't have time for something so important what DOES he have time for??
