The question was about what issue you have debated the most about within yourself -- that you've gone back and forth on and had trouble coming to a conclusion on, not what issue you feel strongest on!

Maybe I phrased that poorly. I meant it could be a moral issue, a spiritual issue, or any kind of issue; not that the issues were 'morality,' spirituality,' and so forth.

If it is possible to salvage the culture and civilization of humanity, to solve some of our problems with just a change of direction, or if it must be destroyed and rebuilt from almost nothing to succeed...
Theism, the need for people to believe in God, is not inborn, it is a aberration that must be taught or crafted, and the people who believe in a "higher power," are certain that humanity will fail and destroy itself...Is that what we really want? To just give up? To let the world of man die?
If there is to be a chance for us to take a better direction it would help if Christians weren't waiting for the rapture, or if christians and muslims weren't trying their darnedest to "fulfill the prophesies," like Bush and Osama, who are working together, intentionally or not, to escalate world tension and reap the profits of human suffering, be they for money, glory or power.
If the "servants of God," succeed in their mission, we all fail. The human race will probably have a few meager survivors, and we will struggle on. The tradgedy is that unless theism dies with civilization, unless we start taking responsibility for ourselves, instead of putting it on the shoulders of imaginary giants, then we will advance only to destroy ourselves again, and again,
in the name of God...

The relevancy of the church in the 21st Century social environment. People feel spiritual without the need for structured organization.

Spiritual. I grew up in a very conservative religious home and have not followed the path my family would like. It took many years for me to finally live my own life instead of trying live one that I was not sincere about.

This is what people do to try to confuse you they make it seem like it is you that are not saying stuff well or phrasing it well it is only a tactic to try to get you to stop. You phrased this just fine, don't let them get to you, my answer would be have to be all, which is related to my trying to stop the corruption. Guess one person can't stop the corruption, but all of us together can if we don't give up, maybe?

personally, i have the most trouble balancing two of my strongest views:
1. that it's *really* difficult to "adopt" a position of certainty about anything
2. that it's fundamentally flawed to think of everything in the sphere of human activity as "relativistic"
finding the boundaries and intersections between these two beliefs has been the most difficult thing i've dealt with

None, I don't worry about things I can't do anything about and I like the way I am. When I was a child I use to wonder if others perceived things differently than I do, but lately I am sure they do.

For me it is a Spiritual issue, not whether or not God is real but to what degree we worship and how.

The same question that Tom Robbins was asking : how do you make love stay?
There are other issues, but I guess I consumed them or they consumed me.

I try to steer away from this as an answer only because people treat it like a universal answer in the philosophy section ,but my answer is:
Love;
-Does it exist?
-How do you KNOW when your in love?
-Is love universal or just a trait humans have?
-Is it eternal or can you "fall out" of love?
-Are there seperate divisions of love, Love for thy family, Love for thy friend, Love for thy lover?

Defenitly spiritual. I know I shouldn't, but I always question if God is really there or if He's listening to me.
