I have a cable modem. (MOTOROLA SB1501) It has worked great for a month. I tried to connect a broadband voice gateway to it. (MOTOROLA VT 1005) When I rebooted my computer web pages wouldn't display. I ran a diagnostic and received the following info..."Unable to verify hostname. Could be either gateway or DNS issue." can anyone tell me how to resolve this issue?

you need to purchase a router as the voip gateway will stop your internet connection.
The physical connections should look like this:

-Cable from the wall to your Broadband Modem.
-Ethernet cable from your broadband modem to your routers WAN (Internet) Port
-Ethernet cable from routers ethernet Port #1 to your computers ethernet port
-Ethernet cable from routers ethernet port #2 to the Voip Gateway
-Phone cable from Voip Gateway to phone
