Im no math wizard but these are proportion questions. The first one is quite simple. 2 months = 2/12 of a year ( two months out of 12 months which is a year) and you simplify it to get 1/6. The answer is 1/6 year...or in decimal form is about .17 year.
The next question is a little harder. If the skirt is discounted 25% that means that the other 75% is the price of the skirt. So what I did was set up a proportion equation.
75/100=36/x
(75/100 is 75% of the price of the skirt which is what is left over after the discount. )
when you cross multiply you get 75x=3600 which equals $48. So the answer is $48.

Problem 1:
2/12 = 1/6 of a year
Problem 2:
since it was discounted 25%, that mean that $36=75%
so divide 36 by 3 which equals 12
12=25%
add 12 to 36 and u get 48$ as the regular price of the skirt

Problem 1: There are 12 months in a year so it is 2/12 or 1/6 of a year or .167.
Problem 2: If the skirt is $36 and was discounted 75%, it would be $48 regular price. 36/.75=48

1) 1 year = 12 months
1 month = 1/12 year
2 months = 1/6 year
2) List price
75% from list price = $36
100% = $36/75x100 = $48 = List price

In fractions, look at it such as you're dividing. 9/3 relatively skill "9 divided by skill of three" or "3 into 9." 9/3 equals, or reduces to, 3. Likewise, 25/5 reduces to 5. Now it does get slightly extra complicated than that, yet for the 1st question you asked, it facilitates to verify the relationship. If the numerator is two times the dimensions of the denominator, then you somewhat've fractions alongside with 4/2, 6/3, 8/4, a hundred/50, etc. Any of those will decrease to 2. As on your 2d difficulty, turn all of my examples listed above - 2/4, 3/6, 4/8, 50/a hundred. they'll all decrease to a million/2. The development is the opposite of your first question - now the denominator is two times the dimensions of the numerator. they'll all decrease to a million/2, such as 4/2 reducing to 2. desire that facilitates slightly - fractions are a undergo to get a draw close on, yet as quickly as you notice how numerators and denominators relate and the thank you to start canceling out words, it gets lots much less complicated.

2 divided by 12 = .166 years
36 divided by 3 = 12, 12 times four = 48 $
to check 48 / 100 = .48 .48 times 25 = 12 and 48 minus 12 is 36.
so the answer is 48 $

there are 12 months in a year...
12 divided by 2 is 6...
so the answer is a 6th of a year
25% off an item is the same as 1/4th off
so 36 divided by 4 is 9
36-9=27

2/12 = 1/6 of a year (or 16.6%)
36 / 0.75 will give you the answer.
Think of it as the value $36, is 75% of the original price (100% - 25%)
