A Hindu is a person who believes in Hinduism. the main religion of India. There are many Gods....Shiva...Ganpati (the elephant god) ...Kali. Rama.Sita ..Hanuman (the monkey god) Krisna or Krishna.. Sarasvati..It is a very intricate religion and needs a lot of reading. There are just sooooo many Gods. You should see the film Mahabharata ...read the religious book the Geeta and also read other books but Im too sleepy to think of them now. Indians have now travelled and settled all over the world so Hindus are everywhere now. They are mostly a docile people and do not molstly like being involved in violence nin any form but of course there are exceptions to the rule.
India is also known as Hindustan (the country of the Hindu)...countries like Nepal...Thialand, Sri Lanka and a few other surrounding countries were all once part of India but have now broken away and that is why they are all Hindus.

A hindu is a person (Indian, mainly) who follows a certain path which will eventually lead to nirvana or bliss.
They believe that through the cycle of many births and rebirths they will reach the point when they will be perfected to the point when they don't have to return and will join Brahma.
It's not the same as a Christian believing that they will individually be going to Heaven. To the Hindu, it's more like they will be a drop in the consciousness of the universe.
