I wouldn't vote for john Edwards if he spent only $4 for a hair cut.

Yes, I would vote for Edwards even if he spends $400 dollars on a haircut. The only thing that I didn't approve of is that he took his election money that he had raised to pay for the haircut, he could have taken his own money to pay for the haircut. John Edwards, and all of the other politicians running for office all live good lives. If I were Edwards and could afford a $400 dollar hair cut, I would take it. But since my hair is short, I would never have to spend that much on a hair cut.

No I probably would want to vote only for someone who gets his hair trimmed for free at the Salvation Army. That would show the world how tightly we can pinch our pennies here.

I was not aware that there is a limit on how much someone who wants to be president can spend of their own money to have a decent appearance.

As far as how much people in cities around here spend for their haircuts "less than ten dollars" went out about a decade or two ago. If you are going to complain then get your facts straight. Don't forget that not knowing how real people shop in supermarkets kept Bush Senior from a second term.

I would not vote for John Edwards simply for that reason. Spending $400 per haircut, equalling $800 total for 2 haircuts combined. It shows he knows how to waste money.

If I was his barber maybe. The reason the haircut cost so much is that the stylist came to him. He also agreed to pay for the haircut out of his own funds when it was brought to his attention, so it really didn't cost the taxpayers anything. I will be completely honest with you though, and confess that where a person gets his or her haircut and how much it costs them does not even figure into the criteria I use to rate a Presidential candidate. That would be just as superficial as voting FOR him out of sympathy for his wife. Why don't you look at the real issues:

1. We are into our fifth year ikn our war to end terror that missed! Remember, there was not one single Iraqi on any of the three planes that tried to change our way of life on 9-11!

2. We are putting our great great grandchildren into debt to England, China, and Saudi Arabia in order to bloat our government in proportions that no Democrat could ever imagine possible.

3. Our civil rights are being traded away daily, for a false sense of security and an illusion of safety that will dissolve in the cold light of day, as soon as anybody actually tests it.

4. The religious right supported a conservative power block that turned out to be not fundamentalist, but triumphalist. How are they going to get their creidbility back now that it has been wasted in this tragic cause?

This is just off the top of my head, where incidently I just got a haircut for just under ten dollars. I usually do better, but my regular place wasn't open and we had a concert last night. Based on that information, would you want to make me president?

would you vote for Reagan if he had a 400 haircut?

it's the man, I don't care about the haircut... if I thought he would be a good president, that's all that matters...

why do Republicans hate talking about the issues so much, as this issue has been pressed by the Republicans?

but I like the guy and what he says... his platform... you know... the issues...

or do Republicans vote on those anymore?

He wasn't spending tax dollars. He was spending his own money that he earned through work. Apparently, he has become rich. You think he shouldn't be able to spend his own money the way he wants even if he is getting ripped off for a haircut that could cost him $7? Would you want someone telling you how to spend your money?

That said, I had no intentions to vote for him even before he got his haircut.

Yes. It's his own money, he can throw it out the window for all the public should be concerned.

Anyways, he cant spend our tax dollars on stupid things. Our governors would have a say in what the money goes to.

So basically your asking if I would want a president like that. People shouldn't worry about what he does with his own money.

P.S You've got to look good! ha ha

Yes I would vote for John Edwards --what he pays for a haircut is irrelevant when it comes to policy & leadership.

Yes, what was that about? I feel he is a sincere candidate, as sincere as any politician can be. Although I do have some reservations. We need to see what unfolds in the following months. So much comes to the surface as they get closer to election. The uglies seem to rise to the top.
