They had to BRIBE other Democrats to get the 218 votes needed to pass the bill in the House the first time. They need 290 to override a veto. They were probably at least 72 vote short. They would need at least 16 Republicans to override the veto in the Senate. I doubt the got any.

The Democrats need 2/3 of all the members of the Congress and they need many Republicans to override the Presidential veto under the Constitution.
