There are actually hundreds of centers around North America that provide free food to homeless and struggling families.
one such organization is called Second Harvest. they mentioned it on "American Idol Gives Back". there are also countless groups that do soup kitchens etc.
You should check them out and see if there are any in your area that you can support or volunteer with.

this seems to be a ongoing problem.
giving food to bank account customers is thanking the people who open accounts. the homeless do not qualify for this as they are not customers..thus no bank account ...no free hot dog..this is just business
just like no shirt, no shoes, no service...its just a rule
homeless people are treated very well in some areas and in other areas they are not treated too well. This is the injustice.
we are the richest country in the world and there should be a more vigorus attempt to help the people who really need the aide. Sadly some people take advantage of the genorosity of the various charities. There should be a system to weed out these undeserving from the people who really are in need of food and shelter.

How come all Americans are too good to get the down and dirty or too this or too that.? Who truly has the real statistics on how many homeless there are?. How many want to live that way?. How many are actually mentally ill?
I am not going to say ALL American are too this or that. This country donates and gives more than any country in the world. I don't think giving out money everyday and feeding all the homeless everyday is going to solve the problem. They will just keep getting the handouts. I've tried to help some of these people when I was still on the police dept. Most of them really just want you money for other reasons than food.
For many of these homeless, this is a choice.

The bank is a business. The free food they are giving out is meant to attract people to their bank and open an account. Not everyone does but if enough do it is worth it.
I am not sure what we you are referring to that ignores the homeless. I know it isn't this we.

Most people are homeless for good reason, so I dont feel sorry for most of them. Besides, the bank is a business, not a charity. There are charities that feed the homeless.

Let's look at it this way, a percentage of homeless people were each handed a large sum of money to get back on their feet, only 3% bothered to use the few thousand to get an apartment, they preferred the lifestyle they had.

There's no such thing as "free", they're making money from the person opening a bank account.

Speak for yourself.
Our church hands out about 200 food boxes every week to the needy.
There is no reason to wait for the gov't to do what YOU should be doing.
