I went to this pep rally today for the highskool im going to, and all the cheerleaders were there and stuff. now i really want to do it, should i? but my concern is that all of them sucked more than half the girls had to leave the stage cuase they couldnt do back tucks. then the ones that did stay on stage more than half of those fell out of the back tuck. it was stupid. and the flyer was a fat chubby girl, really why would she be a flyer. only 2 people could do roundoff backhandspring tucks. should i even try out for my skool. cause to me they arent very good at all, even though they say the win state every yr.

and i have been in gymnastics forever so i do kno how to do that stuff.

If you really want to, then try-out. Not all schools are amazing, but if it's something you would like to do, then go for it.

EmaWeeE ,keep in mind if you make it to the cheerleading squad it is a team sport. In order for a team to excel it requires all the members to work towards perfection through co-operation and support. I think if you want to make the team you must display some team spirit. This team must be very good to win state every year ( they would have a trophy to prove what they are saying). What better confirmation of their ability do you need.Go to try outs,be confident but not arrogant, and do your best.Take care.

you should try it...if you are willing to give up gymnastics...
Cheerleading also takes time...remember that.
However, if you start your freshman year, you could become captain and possibly get a scholarship...
I felt the same way my freshman year, but now I'm a junior and it's a little too late...I'm trying to get a gymnastics scholarship now...
One of my friends recently quit gym for cheer and she loves it!!!
So my point is, do what you want to do...there's bound to be some good outcomes at the end.

Yeah, even if they suck, you should try out!! You could help make the squad better, gain valuable skills, get to go to lots of fun competitions, make friends, get out of PE, and maybe--maybe--be the best girl on the squad. And who doesn't want to be "the best"??

Trust me, for someone like you, it's an invaluable experience.

Good luck, Em!!

Do it and you will become popular and some collages look at that stuff but only do it if you think it will be fun

Do it and make the fat girls look like crap. They can't really get off of the ground.
