I'm having alot of pc problems and someone suggested I re-install my XP Pro. However, I've lost the disc. The pc is a Dell and came with XP Pro loaded, but I'm sure they sent the disc but I have no idea where it is, after two years now. Can I download it from online somewhere?

It is a Dell Dimension 3000. My first new computer ever. Sweet when it was new and running smoothly, but now it's possessed. Very very s-l-o-w, ACK! Also, click on a link 87 times before it will go to it. Very slow start-up and shut-down, used to be like lightning.

I've got AVG anti-virus and Spyware Doctor on it. I defrag twice a week. Have a registry cleaner program. Gosh it's frustrating and only 2 years old. Also, have high-speed internet. Started really acting up in November.

You can go to Dell customer service online and request a new CD with Xp Pro on it, They generally run about $20 + shipping. Sometimes though you can find someone who will listen to your issues and send you one for free. IF Dell can't help you, go to Microsoft.com and ask them.

Are you sure this is the right thing you need to do? What issues are you having? Maybe you downloaded a virus and just need to spy-sweep your PC first. Just because someone said to reinstall Xp Pro, doesn't mean its the right thing to do.

Good Luck!

Control+Alt+F11. Hold all three and a blue screen will appear. Chose restore and this will reset your computer to the orignal factory settings. You will lose all your saved information. You dont have to buy anything it is on your computer. These are the same directions DELL gave me to restore my DELL 8400.

you could try downloading a crack software from a downloader site or free ware site. Regarding you PC what problem occurs? is it infested with malicious ware such as virus, trojan or worms? if it is or you don't know try using an Anti-virus program to help you run your PC more smoothly.

suggested downloader would be bit coment. Try to look for it over the net. Yahoo or Google might be a good option to look for

You probably have a recovery partition that is accessable upon re-boot...maybe press F12 to bring up the boot list...boot to the dell partition and recover your XP OS with this tool.

If you can share what type of Dell you are using, this answer can get better...

I offer this type of help professionally - and can help you further if needed.

You probably could download it somewhere however it's at least 300mb and that would take forever. If you have your receipt or find your valid serial number I would just call Dell support, they'll give you a new one and guide you through the install.
