Originally, Mongolian, not Chinese... But today they are called Inuit or Eskimos...

Inuit is a separate group. The Eskimos your probably thinking of are from a race of Mongoloid/ Russian/ Asian that come from Northern Russia.
The Discovery "Mammoth" made mention of them and their close neighbor, those that still live of the Northern Steeps of Russia, meeting occasionally, old relatives that still live the old ways.
The Eskimo of the Greenland group are a different race, are those of Iceland, formerly people of The Norsemen.

It is believed that the Chinese crossed the Bering Straights 10,000 years ago and their decedents are the Eskimo's (Short, black hair, similar culture to Chinese).
About 5,000 years ago it is believed that the Mongolians (Indian's: Tall, black hair, similar culture to Mongolians) & Russians (Alleutians- elbino's, tall, blood hair, red/blue eyes) took canues and found a path to the America's. As with all mixing of cultures, well there was war with these people. Concequently, the Eskimo's HATE the Indians & Alleutians ... but the Indian's also HATE the Eskimo (want to be friends with Alleutians) ... and the Alleutians are iscolationists.
All this racial tention has caused Western Society to settle on calling these people "Innuit's" ... which is silly in my opinion.
