I agree totally. He's one of the best players of all time, if not the best...

He's probably one of the most patient players to play the game, say what you want about him, roids dont give you the ability to walk more than striking out 17 seasons in a row. He has over 500 career stolen bases, will break the homerun record, may very well finish with an over .440 obp and possibly 3000 hits. He excells in all aspects of hitting, has 7 gold gloves and 7 MVP awards. There is no argueing that he is one of the greatest to ever play the game (not to mention that he has not spent most of his time in a hitter friendly park). I say that people should just be quiet about the roids. The pitchers facing him are probably using them too, the only reason he's become a scapegoat is because he IS the best not because roids made him the best. I actually have to applaud him for dealing with the press without cowering behind the Players Union like all the other players using roids.

He was really good back in the day and I actually consider him a worse player now. He went from hitting 40 homeruns to all of a sudden over 70?I don't care who you are, but you can't get that good in one off season. He used to be a 40 homeruns and 40 stolen bases type of guy and now he just hits homeruns. Sure he's older, but Ricky Henderson was still stealing bases at an older age. Barry Bonds was really good back in the day, but the cheater now shouldn't be noted in the record books for anything other than a cheater.

the reason why he is playing so well is because of the steroids. i mean he wouldnt be able to hit the ball near as far without it. i mean look at bonds from when he started playing and now, there is a huge difference in his body size. he was once a base stealer and now a home run hitter. yeah he is good at the plate with patients and hitting the ball but he wouldnt be putting up the number without cheating with roids like he is now...its sad. not to mention he is one of the worse outfielders to play this game

Definitely one of the best ever to play. Not as good defensively as some others, but every bit as good at the plate. Some could argue that possibly the best ever given his MVP awards.
As far as the steroids issue, he has not been accussed or found guilty of using - so it's a non-issue right now.

How good is Bond's ? Bond's was so good that he didn't need the steroids to get in the Hall of Fame -he would have gotten in without them . Now because of the steroids he'll never get in.

I dont think he took roids, but who knows. I know by playing baseball, that you have to be incredibly talented to even play at 43, forget what hes doin this year. He would make the hall of fame regardless of steroids or not. Looking at the amount of walks he gets, that could be causious pitching or just a good eye. He waits for a pitch he likes, knowing that if he doesn't get it, theres a good chance they will walk him.

He's very, very good. One of the best that ever played the game. People ought to stop complaining and go out and watch him play while they still have a chance. Take your kids so that they'll remember the experience. I watched him hit 741 at Dodger Stadium and it was a real treat.

If some Chemical X gave him his preternatural eyesight -- he has utter mastery of his strike zone like no one else in the game -- then I'd like to know what it was and get some myself.
Steroids didn't make him the all-time leader in drawing walks, and it's not just that pitchers approach him carefully.

He is a victim when it comes to steroids. People treat it like he is the first.
Steroids can't teach you bat speed. Any true baseball player or fan knows that.
Barry has always earned his money.
