Which republicans are you refering to?
The kind that believe in freedom for all & protecting our country?
What about the kind that freed the slaves? (Lincoln was the first Republican)
I can't stand the "Keep all gays in the closet" kind of Republicans but am all for the "it's not the government's job to fix every problem" Republicans. And I really love the "lower taxes" kind of Republican!
As far a liberals are concerned, I'm all for peace, but eventually we need to step up & defend our country. At what point we get there is something no-one can seem to agree on. The liberals seem to want to wait till foriegn troops are coming off boats & taking over. I heard at least one Dem say America shouldn't even HAVE a military.
And it is highly hypocritical to support the legalization of drugs, but illegalize trans fats!
I'm more of a libertarian,, myself. I want the government out of my pocketbook AND out of my bedroom (or fridge!)
