Won't hurt it at all but will take along time and you can't cut it even. Find a garage sale or check the swap sheet for a used lawnmower

You can (as others have said) but it will be time consuming, less accurate and will use a lot of gas (or electricity as the case may be).

I offer the following solutions:
1. Ask to borrow a neighbor's (use an excuse like a friend borrowed yours and you are having a tough time getting it back)- NO ONE wants to see a hairy lawn when they come out their front door.

2. www.craigslist.com may be prevalent in your town; it's a great site to barter, find free or inexpensive items, or to put an ad up that says what you are looking for!

3. www.freecycle.com- we gave away a weedeater last year because we got a better one; you can get lucky there. What city are you in? If you let everyone know, they may be able to help!

4. Pawn shops are a great place to find lawn equipment.

Good luck!

You probably won't ruin it but it will not look as nice as a job done by a lawn mower. Also, it might take more time.

See if you can find an old lawnmower at a pawn shop, resale shop, or garage sale. It would be cheaper, but you would get a better looking lawn and it would take less time.

I took a weedwacker to my lawn one spring-and it didn't come back until fall. Of couse I did shear it pretty close though. Check the classifieds--a lot of people fix up old mowers and sell them for 20-50 bucks. But I would avoid the weedwacker idea if I were you.

a sharp bladed lawn mower is the only way to cut your lawn...any type of weed whacker will shred the blades of grass instead of clean cutting and you could lose your lawn......go for a cheap but sharp lawn mower......good luck
