Hi everyone,

We are going to be staying at Port Orleans Riverside in June. It's going to be me, my hubby, and my 2 little Princesses (6 and 3). I would really like to stay in one of the Magnolia Bend Mansions. I know that they like to use these for couples and small groups and leave the Alligator Bayou for groups of 5. I have put my request in for Magnolia Bend, so what are my chances in getting a mansion when we go? Will it matter what time we check in, for instance, if we get early check in do we have a better chance? Thanks in advance.

Checking in early really helps. If you have the request on your room that helps, however, be sure to tell the castmember when you check in. For some reasons, a lot of requests end up not transferring from the Disney Travel Agents to the Disney resort system. So be sure to let them know again. They are going to try as hard as they can to get you everything you want, they want you to have the best vacation possible as well.

When you check in they will try and find a room that meets your requests. If you are flexible you have a better chance of getting what you want. For example, you may get lucky and they happen to have a room available that has your requests and you can get your room right away. However, a room with your requests may not be available until later in the afternoon. So, you could leave your luggage at the front desk and then continue onto the parks or whatever you want to do. But, if you really want a room right away, it may be harder to get your requests.

You are going during the summer, so it is going to be a little more busy, and Port Orleans isn't one of the largest resorts, so there are fewer rooms. However, Disney tries their best to get your requests met, while not every request can always be met, there is a good chance you will get what you want.

Have a great time, your Princesses are going to have a fantastic time.

Well it all depends on when you booked. Last year we changed our reservations at the last minute to POR and I also requested the Magnolia Bend, but we got the Bayou. It was still nice though. They already have your room assigned to you several days beforehand, so it doesnt matter when you check in. I would call a few days before you go and ask them if they know which section you will be staying in, if not then say "I strongly request Magnolia Bend," if they still dont then that means that they didn't have any rooms availible during your stay.

Do make the request because disney will accomodate you if at all possible. Just remember that it is a request and not a guarantee. You will be happy and have a magical vacation no matter what! :)
