I know that. His administration has made it a point to make it more difficult for STUDENTS to get an education. Cons/Repubes don't like education because educated people vote DEMOCRATIC!

That must be some really strange form of calculus that you use to figure that one out. You will see from the chart at the bottom of the page in the link provided that total Pell Grant expenditures dropped during the Clinton years and went up greatly during the Bush years. Perhaps the reason you thought what you did is that:
A) You are flat out spreading lies so that the party you swore allegiance to will look better
B) You only read the headline and saw that total Pell Grant funding is down for the first time in six years (for 2006)

I would suggest removing your question so you can get your five points back and also not look like a complete idiot.

It's really funny how that huge dip occurs during Clinton's presidency...I guess he needed money for his legal defense.

Not to mention the fact the the federal subsidized and unsubsidized loan interests rates have risen. And to those who said that there should be no government grants, then you don't have children in college. Every child deserves the same opportunity to go to college and it should not be an elitist opportunity for the wealthy exclusively.

Our daughter graduated last year and our son is a college senior. Fortunately, we can afford it, but the cost of tuition and housing has disrupted our retirement opportunities. Some of our friends can't and are struggling beyond belief to give their children a college education.

Let me guess. Another one of THOSE who thinks the whole world owes him. Entitlement. What ever happened to the days of working for it? I made it all the way through without taking a loan of getting a grant. All the while, I took care of my wife, three kids, bought ten acres and built a 4 bedroom, two bath house... And we live on less tha $32,000 a year. But then, I have pride, self worth and I'm the wrong sex and color... Sucks to be me. Title IX, NAACP, HUD, ect., ect., ect... Yeah, that mean, old Bush. He is a throw back. Isn't he?

That's true. At the same time banks and student financial aid institutions' profits have skyrocketed as has the interest rates. Good bye middle class.
If you stuck with nosf37's argument, then only the rich would be able to afford a college education.

College tuition up thirty five percent in the past five years. College is only meant for the wealthy and the cost proves that point. Colleges also have been caught taking kickbacks from their preferred lenders. It's part of the plan for the new world order.

extra effective yet received't stay that way if we proceed to spend like drunken sailors at the same time as the dems push the optimal tax will develop in a lengthy time period on the yankee public, and not in any respect purely on the socalled wealthy. in case you pick to keep unemployment at less than 5 %, keep costs of interest decrease then they have been in a lengthy time period and keep taxes down, please please please human beings, commence vote casting in extra economic conservatives. If the dems get administration, regardless of ways you imagine of what the reps are doing in words of spending, each and each and every american paying taxes today will be paying extra taxes. no longer purely the "wealthy" as defined with the help of the dems, yet honestly everyone. they have already proposed a brilliant tax develop which may placed extra poorer earners into higher tax brackets. higher taxes have not in any respect helped our economic equipment. decrease taxes have shown to stimulate our economic equipment.

Take a student loan. Don't depend on government for your personal needs. There should be no federal college grants for anyone.

with two kids in college, I would have been happy to just get low interest or "no interest" loans.... problem is, while he was in office, student loan interest rates doubled.
