She could start having contractions anytime. I had my baby 2 hours after my water broke. My best friends had to be givenpitocin several hours after her water broke, and it took 24 hours to work. It's different for everybody, but doctors wont let her go for too long because it can be dangerous to the baby.

She should be having contractions in the next 24 hours. Hope this helps!!

What do I do if My Water Breaks?

Note the color of the fluid and the time when the water broke and call your physician or midwife. If the fluid is clear and your are having only mild contractions or none at all, your physician or midwife may have you stay home for awhile. If the amniotic fluid is green, brownish-yellow, or anything other than clear in color, notify your physician or midwife and come to the hospital as soon as possible.

Although most physicians and midwives prefer babies to be delivered 24 hours (or less) after the rupture of membranes to prevent infection, some physicians and midwives allow women to labor longer. Check with your physician or midwife regarding the timeframe they follow with ruptured membranes and how they monitor for infection.

There is no such thing as a "dry birth." Approximately one third of the liquid is replaced every hour.

It could be 4 hours it could be 24. Usually it will be faster then that but everyone is different. WIth my first baby, I found out my water broke at around 10:30am and I had my baby at 10pm. So you never know. More than likely she'll be a momma by the end of the day! So she should definitely go to the hospital already!

Well sometimes it takes a while for contractions to start. The baby will have to be born in 24 hours or there will be a risk of infection. The doctors will be sure the baby gets here safe and sound (within 24 hours).

No more than 24 hours! She needs to go to the hospital or call her midwife asap. Once the water has broken, the longer the baby is still in there, the higher the chances of infection. 24 hours is the longest they want a baby to be inside mommy once water has broken. She needs to have that baby soon!

usually, it takes between 24-48 hrs that contractions will start and depending on the labor, the end result is always the same :) however, if she thinks her water has broken, she should call her healthcare provider because they'll probably bring her in to be monitored because once the water has broken, labor can progress verrrrrry quickly. so tell her to call the doctor or hospital and get in there

fisrt things first I hope she is on her way to the hospital and to predict when the baby will be born is anyones guess... My water broke with my son at about 4am and with the help of pitocin he was born at 11:15am so it all depends on what the Dr. has in mind for her delivery and her own body just because she doesn't feel the contractions doesn't mean she isn't having them because I wasn't feeling mine either but the monitor showed they were there so.... every baby/mother/delivery is different

my water brok at 10 am on easter sunday and i didn't have my son til 5 am the next day. i will tell u that if she odesn't have the baby within 24 hours they will opt for a c section to reduce the risk of infection in the mother and baby. i almost had to have one because it was taking me too long to progress i was in labor for 19 hours

Giving birth is very unpredictable. Anything from 10 mins to 36 hours

It really depends on many factors. Labor takes longer if it's her first pregnancy.

She is having contractions, she just hasn't noticed them. I assure you that she is, she's just apparently really lucky at them not being so painful for her.

If I knew how dilated her cervix was and if this is her first pregnancy or whatever I could guess. But since I don't know this I cannot.
