THE BEST THING lately ...
when I FINALLY Became an Empty-Nesting Single Retiree! Getting ALL the children OUT of MY HOME That MY Hard Work and Earnings paid for and out of MY Income/Pocketbook -- no longer having to deal with the abusive, nasty, selfish young adult/teen attitudes and behaviors -- not having to constantly be at the beck and call (and the driving .. trying to find them when I sense something is wrong, etc) -- NOT having to be EMBARASSED by their Nastiness or rudeness or anything else -- and NOT being abused or assaulted any more (or having money stolen from my purse) ...
THAT is the BEST thing that happened to me in a VERY LONG TIME -- (even though it was also accompanied by the Adult Child willingly HELPING the Ex from a decade and half ago BURGLARIZING MY HOME in August 2006) ...
Felt like the entire weight of the world was LIFTED From my shoulders -- no more living in fear of the next problem, no more having to deal with the drama/hormonal raging young adults .. and NOW ...
MY INCOME is my own -- and I've since gotten a great start on the repairs to my home, gotten the chance to go BACK to College (this time for FUN -- I took Website Design and Digital Imaging/Photography Courses! -- and yes, I do already have UGrad and Grad Degrees), and can SLEEP more than the 3 hours a night PLUS -- I GET TO SIT DOWN NOW and RELAX!

If you ignore the obvious, like meeting my wife, marriage, birth of my beautiful daughters and my grandchildren....then I would say travelling on Concorde at twice the speed of sound.....so sad to think that no one else can do that now, it may have been an old plane in years and technology, but what an icon for Britain and France.....

standing in my dads hospital room 3 months ago & finding out that the surgeons could fix what they had screwed up in my dads heart; they punctured his heart & he was bleeding out internally & we weren't sure the hole would close on its own. Praise God it did, and today my dad is home with me & my mom.
In a split second, I imagined my entire life without my dad; my college graduation without him, my wedding without him, my first child without him..... and then they told us he'd be alright. THAT was the best thing that's happened to me.
:o)
