The most venomous snakes in the world are Australian snakes with the inland taipan or fierce snake at the top of the list but none of the Australian snakes is the deadliest.

Australian snakes are responsible for 0.13 deaths per million of the population every year. The snakes are shy and get out of your way. Most people who are bitten are trying to catch or kill the snake.

The deadliest snake, which kills 50 people per million each year, is a viper from India and Sri Lanka. It is not as venomous as the Australian snakes but it is more deadly.

Check to site below. It lists the top 5 in order, has photos and areas where they can be found.

I think the listing omits any sea snake. I have heard there is a sea snake that is more venomous than any land snake. The problem is I don't recall the name and the source is far from being unimpeachable.

Deadliest in this case is a relative term.
The most venomous is the Sea Snake.
On land the Cobra, Mamba, and Coral snakes
are about neck and neck.
The fastest moving venom may be the Boomslang. (15 seconds to death)
Hope this helps.
