You could have a tumbler that is stuck or the key is worn and not lining up the tumblers right. Try spraying some WD-40 into the slot and run the key in and out a bunch of times to try and free the stuck tumbler, if that is what it is. good luck, and if all else fails, then take it to the dealer and have him replace the lock.

The tumblers might be frozen inside the lock cylinder. You can get a good penetrating oil to spray inside the lock cylinder from any auto parts store. It may take awhile to free up. Spray it a couple of times and work the key in and out. But make sure you wipe off any excess that might run onto your paint.

if you bought the car from someone second hand, they may have had an accident and changed to door but never swapped the lock cylinder over, if it has been yours for a while, you may need to change your lock cylinders, i would suggest doing all of them as to keep 1 key for all doors.

warmth the foremost up with a lighter or hair dryer and insert it into the door lock...let it sit for various seconds to allow the warmth from the foremost to soften any ice interior and attempt turning....or use the hair dryer right away on the lock cylinder to warmth it up and thaw any ice contained in the lock. you could also squirt some rubbing alcohol into the lock hollow which will melt any ice crystals interior ...fill a small squirt bottle with rubbing alcohol and squirt it into the lock hollow or carry the spring-loaded lock hollow conceal open with a toothpick or paperclip and dribble the alcohol into the hollow....then attempt the foremost back. If that works, relubricate the lock cylinder in a lengthy time period with WD-40 or liquid graphite lubricant for locks .
