I have a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (5.6L) with 165,000 miles. I need both rear axle bearings and seals replaced (although noise is only coming from the right rear). I also will need to replace the right rear axle itself.

How much should I expect to pay for this repair, and is it better to go to a dealer, or can any (major) auto repair shop do this work?

Thanks!

That's a pricey repair and messy too.

Find someone in the yellow pages that does rear-end work. (differential)
