I know my question doesnt make much sense but I dont know what they are called. For example in facebook they are those things like a rose or a heart made out of different characters that you can copy and paste and put on someones wall.
What are they called? Where can I find them?

Its considered a type of "Ascii Art" eg: http://www.justbewise.net/matrix2.html

Some software you might use is Magic ASCII Picture or ASCII Art Generator. But there are thousands of homebrewed alternatives(as this type of software is quite easy to write).

A common media player called VLC player(www.videolan.org) is completely free and will even let you watch all your PC movie files in this style you described!

ASCII Art can be created easily in Windows NotePad, or any word processor that can save as a text file, it's just a plain text file.

The "art" part is you get to design whatever you want.
