Ich would cause multiple spots so we know it isn't that. Since it was a single bump and now it appears to have burst I have two theories. 1- the fish was resting on a suction cup behind the heater and got burned. Or 2- the fish has fishpox. This can cause a small whitish ulceration/s that will periodically burst to release the virus into the water where it can find new fish to infect.

It's not ich and don't change 100% of the water every day. In fact, don't even put your hands in the tank. The bump could be from any one of several bacterial causes one of which is contagious to humans and you don't want to risk catching it. You need to treat the tank with a good broad spectrum antibiotic like Maracyn 2 for 10-14 days all the while keeping your hands out of the tank especially if you have a cut or scratch. If you do get water from the boewl on your hands, wash them well with antibacterial soap and you'll be fine most likely. It's not really easy to catch the one thing that you can catch fromthe tank, but why not be really careful just to be sure? If you have any questions feel free to email me.

it is probably ick. When you fish had Ick/Ich it looks like someone has sprinkled them with salt. It is little teeny tiny specks of white. Most of the time these specks show up on the fins and tails first. They do not have a raised appearance and are flat against the fish. However, when they are covered with these in the advanced stages of Ick then they do have a raised look to them. the other fish probably tried to eat it off or it itches so it might have rubbed him self raw.

that sounds like ick, ick is a bacterial infection which is serious to any fish, infact it could kill them.go to your local pet store and get ick medication right away ,when you return home put one drop in the water. if your fish has an open wound then take it to the petstore where you got him and have it checked out. i hope things go well for you.
