i would call, but you should have talked to him or kept in touch so he would remember you. Since 6 years have passed he may not have remember all you have done for the company. Its best to talk to your references on you resume at least 1 to 2 times a year.

Calling is always a better way than e-mailing, especially when you need a reference. And many managers find it flattering when you call and are glad to help. And if you do that, you can use your old manager for reference in another 6 years as well.

Normally I'd say call but since you have not spoken in 6 years you can probably do either. Better hope your old boss is still there.

it would be a good theory to enable this die. while your boss throws her exchange down and acts like a jerk basically smile and be as candy as sugar in direction of her. it is going to deliver her right into a rage interior. forget approximately regarding the hotel. they are jerks. it would ok be harassment, yet they are able to close their account with the keep at any time for any reason. this would make you present day supervisor indignant, and that they are able to allow you to bypass with out reason until you have a settlement. you may seek for the advice of your present day administration in this occasion. tell them you're disillusioned approximately it and ask them what they think of you ought to do. positioned your organization first. they are caught interior the midst of this unlucky mess.

By all means CALL. You're asking for a favor, and one that they don't have to grant. If you're asking for them to take the time to talk to other potential employers, you should at least take the time to pick up the phone.

I would say call. how comfortable do you feel talking to him. I have found when you email peopel its easier for peopel to ignore your inquiries. If you call they will be put on the spot and say yes.
