April 11 I had a job interview that I felt went well. They said it would be around 2 weeks before they called anyone. The day after the interview I mailed thank you letters to my interviewers. After two weeks and one day I called and spoke with the HR person who interviewed me and she indicated that they had gotten back logged and said it might be another week or so before calls went out. Tomorrow would be the end of that third week. I'm anxious and am tired of waiting, but I understand there isn't much I can do. Would it be a good idea to send an email to my interviewers just saying thank you again? I thought about saying something like "Thank you for taking the time to interview me, and I look forward to speaking to you about this opportunity again."

Good/bad? Help!

I have done this before and it has seemed to help, they could really be backed up, I was a supervisor at my last job and I know how it is when you get a bunch of resumes then have a bunch of interviews, it could take up to a month sometimes to get someone hired...GOOD LUCK to you!!!!

I wouldn't thank them again, you have already done that, they might think you are trying to suck up. I would give it the two day rule...By tomorrow if you haven't heard anything, I would send an e-mail or maybe call just to do a follow up on your interview.

I would say no leave it as if they havent contacted you in three weeks chances are you haven't got the job and the dear john i am sorry letter has not come out yet as the staff is backlogged. What i would do to be sure is phone the company and ask if the position you applied for had been filled yet. Dont send another thank you, it makes you lok like you are sucking up

By way of credentials, I ran an employment agency in CT and have written a couple college courses on employment. With that said, yes, do send an email with the languge you proposed. It will do no harm and may help. Good luck.

i think you should move on and keep interviewing. heres ahelpful suggestion, when i was job searching i found it was hard to get a response without a head hunter (employment agency). When i had one I got hired instantly, why? bc they pestered and hounded them about my qualifications to get a straight answer. I dont think they want you bc if they did they wouldnt wait 3 weeks... Try getting a head hunter and it will work in your benefit bc they can negotiate a top salary, ideal position and speak as a reference on your behalf. Plus they get paid by the company for finding you.
