Great story! Just watched that movie the other night and loved it. It's hard to take Hillary Swank seriously as a serious character, but she pulled it off nicely, and had just the right chemistry with Patrick Dempsey when she needed to. Loved the kids and their 'tudes. The movie serves as a reminder to all of us that everyone has a story, and everyone deserves respect.

I just watched it the other night as well. It was a good movie. Probably one of the best to come out of MTV. Some things were a bit overplayed, but so are most movies that are based on true life events.

i thought it was ok, i liked dangerous minds better but swank was impressive as was dempsey. only thing is this movie has been done a bunch of times so it was nothing special.

i liked it better the first time it came out, dangerous minds ! it was the same story line as damgerous minds. i watched it a few nights ago and i thought freedom writers was kinda boring and it was waste of my netflex movie of the week.
