I don't think I have favorite weapons, but the single weapon that had more effect on the ground was the M1 Garand. It gave the infantry semi-automatic capabilities to everyone in the squad. It was far superior to anything the Germans or Japanese had, and allowed the U.S. troops to dominate the ground war.

The Soviet T34 medium armored fighting vehicle. Had its drawbacks, mainly due to the fact that the tank commander had to act as the gunner, but other than that, here are what I believe to be its strong points:

1. Wide tracks and low center of gravity. Kept it from getting stuck in mud and snow as often as the tanks of their Axis opponents.

2. Well sloped armor. The sloping of its armor has been the basis for proper sloping in most tanks produced after it. In fact, the German Panther was inspired by the T34.

3. Easy to mass produce. Simple design that allowed the Soviets to turn out a massive amount of tanks as compared to their Axis opponents.

that's a dark question, isn't it?

how could you have a favorite weapon that's used to kill, maim, and destroy lives?

i don't condone the use of weapons, but the nuclear bomb ended the war, at the cost of thousands of civilian lives.
