not surprised at all..... the time , effort and the cost to taxpayers...from the beginning..was for show only....head games...nothing more....a "showboating" stunt...really rather revolting in my opinion...it like them saying" see sheeple (people), we tried but Satan (Chavez's endearment for Bush) vetoed this....so, there is nothing more we could have done...remember when you go to vote that we fought for you..etc "...head games are sick...but our politicians has took head games to a level all its own....when you think of the cost of lives involved..it is pretty much sadistic...
and yes, the news does need to provide the numbers .. people need to see this was nothing more than a game being played for the benefit of political parties and politicians...not for the betterment of any kind.......

Yes, lots of liberal spin. Some news stations didn't leave that fact of the Congress votes not being enough to override the president but most of the focus was on the Bush veto itself.
The media tries as hard as it can to stir up those who do not know what is going on.

Well mentioning the exact amount would have been more factual and news-like. But the "big-spin showdown!!!" was whether they could over-rule a president, which rarely happens. SO when CNN says, "the house didn't have enough to over-ride, I wouldn't consider that spin, just hazy on immediate details."

No, it wasn't a surprise. We've know for some time that if the President vetoed the bill, there would not be enough votes to override it. No one was keeping that a secret.

No spin. The question at hand was "does the house have a 2/3 majority?" The answer was no.
Everyone knew the numbers. Nothing was left out.

if the war doesn't end our country will go bankrupt and chaos will come about. bush does not understand that we cannot stay in Iraq forever. what we need to do is help them get their own troops and have their own government so we can all get on with our lives. bush should be more interested in things happening here like how to get us ready for when the oil and social security runs out and improving our health care system and education. hes the president of AMERICA and he should start acting like it.
Bush needs to stop being dumb and act in our interests instead of his own.
