I was just called racist for thinking that illegal immigrants should be deported, and I'm wondering when it became racist to be a law-abiding citizen? I realize that it's mostly Mexicans and Hispanic groups that feel they are above immigration laws, but I didn't say I wanted them all sent back. The illegals from ANY country should be deported.

Why is that racist?

It is not racist. What they are trying to do is to make others feel guilty and use the evil forces of political correctness against the law that wants to deport them. The problem is that the majority of illegal immigrants are of Hispanic origin. Just because we do not condone their disregard for our laws, that does not make us racists. My family had no problem becoming legal immigrants, why can't they do the same?

It's not. There is nothing wrong with wanting illegal immigrants to be deported. As long as you weren't calling the illegal immigrants racist names you shouldn't be called a racist!

They have to find a way to defend the fact that they have broken the law. So, they attack those who want the law enforced. It is part of the plan to silence any objections to their criminal activity. Unfortunately, Howard Dean by supporting the illegals is giving some form of credibility to them. Or is he in fact destroying the last shreds of credibility he had left?

It's not racist. It's common sense. America cannot support every person who wants to come here.

i dont think its racist and completely agree with you. I think its easy to play the racist card instead of having a serious debate or conversation bout the problem.

because many racists do hide behind that law to excuse their racism. peopel get selective about which laws they want to see enforced.

If I said, "all corporate crooks should be arrested," I might get called a communist or something, even though I'm just calling for fair enforcement of laws on the books.

It's not. The pro-illegals camp just doesn't have a leg to stand on so they have to resort to attacks.
